J.C. Karich

In 2001 Juan Cristóbal Karich founds 57 Studio along with a group of architects. In 2004 he moves to France to work in design and interior architecture. Four years later, he becomes a design researcher at the École National Supérieure of Arts Décoratifs (EnsadLab) He first works with communicant objects and then enters the design, innovation and future group. In 2009 he showcases at the ICFF in New York and in 2010 at the Tokyo Design Week. In 2012 he teaches the Augmented Objects course and is part of the Desideh research group at EnsAD, Paris. He is part of the 2013 Paris Design Week, Museomix and 3D Printing Exhibition at the London Science Museum. He also participated in Estación Cero, at the CMPC contest and in "Low Fi High Tech Headphones" in "Making Real" in Toronto, Canada. His "Soundsitive" speaker is presented at the Bienal de Diseño in Santiago, Chile. In 2014 he is part of the jury for the Masisa contest and presents "Sandbox" in collaboration with Martín De Bee and etmoietmoietmoi, and the "Low Fi High Tech" headphones at Digital Promises, Toronto, Canada. In 2014 he teaches the design workshop class at the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez’s Designlab. In 2015 he teaches the product workshop class at diseño UC. Recently he was awarded with the Innovation in Design recognition from CNCA, the Avonni Design Award in 2017 and he was a finalist for the YAP Constructo in 2017.
